About the 1992 Virage Volante For Sale

?Hand built by Aston Martin in 1992, Chassis 003 was the launch car for the 2+2 Virage Volante and displayed by Aston Martin at the 1992 Geneva Motor show, finished in Giallo Fly (Yellow) with Tan hides and manual transmission. This ex’ factory owned Virage Volante was subsequently sold by Aston Martin directly, to form part of the renowned Brunei collection, after being extensively rebuilt by Aston Martin into its current and ultimate Virage configuration, becoming the first of just 19 Virage Volante’s built to full 6.3 Litre Wide Body Specifications.

Remaining in climate-controlled storage in the UK, this ultimate specification Virage Volante, was subsequently resold and UK registered in 1999 having covered a mere 100 miles. A printed Dyno sheet, dated 2020 and included in the extensive history file, records 490 bhp at 6,200 RPM with a maximum torque at 4,500 RPM of 443 Lbs ft.

The history of the Aston Martin Lagonda Logo

The inception of the Aston Martin logo dates back to 1921 when a modest emblem featuring the letters “A” and “M” within a black, double-lined circle made its debut. However, it wasn’t until 1927 that the iconic Aston Martin wings badge emerged, adorned with an Art Deco font and meticulously detailed wings flanking the company name.

History of the Aston Martin Logo

In the 1930s, the design underwent simplification while retaining the essence, with wings slightly more elevated. By 1932, a refinement straightened out the wings, foreshadowing the silhouette recognizable today. In 1947, the acquisition by David Brown led to an alteration, incorporating his name above the company’s.

Transitioning into 1971, Company Developments Ltd. took the reins, heralding a change that removed Brown’s name, bringing the logo closer to its modern form. The logo experienced a subtle facelift in 2003, where the font of the company name was refined. This version endured for nearly two decades until the most recent redesign in 2022. The 2022 update introduces a sleeker wing pattern and a new typeface for the Aston Martin name, marking a significant chapter in the logo’s evolution.

Aston Martin and James Bond:

The symbiotic relationship between Aston Martin and James Bond is etched into the annals of popular culture. The association commenced in 1964 with the release of “Goldfinger,” featuring the iconic DB5. Subsequent 007 Bond films continued this collaboration, featuring various Aston Martin models, including the DBS V12 and the DB11. This enduring partnership with James Bond and Aston Martin not only elevated the brand’s global profile but also contributed to its mystique, aligning it with the sophistication and intrigue associated with the world’s most famous spy.

About the 2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2002, the 575M Maranello signalled a whole new level of achievement for one of Ferrari’s most traditional layouts – the V12 front-engined rear-wheel drive berlinetta.

The Exterior of the Ferrari 575M Maranello is finished in Grigio-Titanio

Replacing the successful 550 Maranello, in essence the 575 was an uprated 550, built on the same tubular steel chassis but with a bigger and more powerful engine (575 being shorthand for 5,748cc) and other significant modifications signalled by the ‘M’ in the name, (‘M’ standing for Modificata). On top of its extra power – 515hp versus the 550’s 485hp – it had drilled and ventilated brakes with more servo assistance, different front to back weight distribution, better aerodynamics (mainly achieved by changes to the underbody) and electronically controlled adaptive suspension, along with a revised and improved interior.

Rear of the Ferrari 575M Maranello Car

During the four-year production run (2002-2006) a total of just over 2,000 575M’s were produced, for worldwide consumption.

The example, we are now pleased to offer, was first supplied by Maranello Sales, Official Ferrari dealer in Egham, Surrey in July 2002, finished in Grigio Titanio over Bordeaux hides with optional desirable ‘Fiorano’ Handling Pack along with satellite navigation and Scuderia Ferrari wing mounted shields.

Having recorded just 6,400 miles from new, in the hands of its 3 owners, this car presents in outstanding condition throughout, the exterior being unmarked and the interior unblemished.

Servicing has been carried out by Ferrari main agents and highly respected marque specialists, including its last, major, service by Bob Houghton in August 2022, less than 1,200 miles ago, at which time cambelts and auxiliary belts were changed, along with an interior ‘sticky switch’ refurbishment. A recent ‘Vehicle Health Check’ by Ferrari confirms the car to be fault free, ‘on the button’ and ready to be enjoyed, supplied with 12 months MOT.

About the Aston Martin DB AR1

Rekindling the long-standing association between the marque and Zagato of Milan, in 2003, Aston Martin unveiled the DB7 Zagato. This very special coupe was built as a strictly limited production run of only 99 cars, all of which were quickly sold.Rear of the DB AR1 Car at Nicholas Mee

Due to homologation problems, the DB7 Zagato was not offered to the US market. To satisfy the demand created by the coupe a special ‘roadster’ version was styled by Zagato, using the standard DB7 Volante chassis to overcome type approval issues. Called the ‘DB American Roadster 1’ (DB AR1) the open model was built after the coupe and in fact final assembly was completed at the new Gaydon plant alongside the first DB9’s.

Designed with a sunnier climate in mind, the DB AR1 had no roof or hood covering at all – just a simple rain cover to protect the leather interior when parked. The DB AR1 is a Left Hand Drive Automatic Car

The example we are now delighted to offer, is particularly special, being number 001 of the 99 produced. About the Aston Martin V12 Vantage AMR Roadster

Launched in June 2017, the V12 Vantage AMR, the final production derivative of the V12 Vantage, was conceived and produced in celebration of the Aston Martin’s racing success, in particular with their GTE class win at the Le Mans 24 hrs that year. Equipped with the last and most powerful variant of the sonorous, naturally aspirated 6.0 litre V12 engine, the AMR specification producing 595 bhp which when mated to the 7-speed (dog leg) manual gearbox, is an absolute thrill to drive and a highly fitting tribute to its endurance racing counterpart.

The V12 Vantage AMR was offered in Coupe and Roadster format and limited to a maximum of 100 cars. The Roadster being, by some margin, the rarer version.

Incredibly, just 29 V12 Vantage AMR Roadsters were built (yes, you read that right), for worldwide consumption, 20 in UK RHD specification, making this one of the very rarest variants of one of the most admired Aston Martin models, a real collector’s item.Aston Martin V12 Vantage AMR Roadster with hood up

This particular example was registered for use in January 2018. Finished in Stratus White, with orange centre stripe, over Pure Black and Blue Haze metallic hides with California Poppy welting. Just 2 of the total 29 cars built were finished in this specification.

Having covered just 1,630 miles from, this car is presented in ‘as new’ condition throughout. Servicing has been carried out annually by Aston Martin Main agents, including its last service in October 2023.

The V12 Vantage AMR Roadster has a manual transmission

The combined attributes of naturally aspirated, highly audible, smooth and visceral V12 engines with manual transmissions, are now a ‘thing of the past’, as the industry marches to a turbo, hybrid and electric future. The V12 Vantage AMR is a modern classic in every sense, a homage to racing glory and extremely rare. In ‘as new’ condition and with ultra-low mileage, this superb ‘last of a type’ supercar is highly recommended to the new era collector, driver or enthusiast alike.
