There is no doubt that the V8 Vantage is already an exhilarating example of engineering – to see, feel and hear. However, the V8 Vantage has even more to offer and you can unlock this potential through various upgrades – enhancing the dynamic of the driving experience.
Here at Aston Store we offer 4 variations of upgrades; Sports Pack, Sports Exhaust, Power Upgrade, and AMR Performance Clutch. Each offers heightened performance for different aspects of the car.
Sports Pack: The Sports Pack upgrade sees further key components tuned to deliver an even more agile and focused driving experience. For example, the combination of up rated springs and Bilstein aluminium dampers with their improved dynamic response works in perfect harmony with the new lightweight, five-spoke alloy wheels, all resulting in an exceptionally responsive suspension. Overall the pack helps reduce body roll and improve control especially at high speeds, while also offering unrivalled agility in all aspects of handling.
Sports Exhaust: The Sports Exhaust upgrade, with a new stainless steel silencer, is designed and developed to the same exciting durability and integrity standards applied to the car’s original fit silencer guaranteeing compatibility with your Aston Martin. The silencer is an all new lighter design having a new external shape profiled to support undercar airflow, different internal tuning and retains the engine management controlled exhaust valve. All this gives the V8 Vantage a more dynamic soundtrack, while still being fully compliant with all noise legislation. Aston Martin engineers have developed a new engine calibration that has optimised valve opening points to maximise sound quality but at a low load and at cruising speed the valves close to minimise unwanted noise. The exhaust valves also stay open on the over-run to give a distinctive and different sports characteristic to the standard silencer.
Power Upgrade: The Power Upgrade creates an even more potent version of Aston Martin’s already impressive 4.3 litre engine. The Power Upgrade features valved airboxes that open at higher rpm allowing additional air into the engine, which in turn enables more power to be produced. Peak power is raised by 20bhp to 400bhp while peak torque is also increased by 10NM to 420NM. The revised engine management system also enables the engine to take full advantage of the latest high octane fuels, providing a crisper throttle response and stronger performance feel.
AMR Performance Clutch: Designed for an even sportier drive, the AMR Performance Clutch has been developed to deliver quicker transition through gears, increased torque capacity and a lighter clutch feel. Key components in the AMR Performance Clutch:
- Lightweight Flywheel – Inspired by the design of the flywheel from the GT4 race car, the lightweight flywheel has been machined from through-hardened EN24T alloy steel, ensuring incredible tensile strength and toughness. A reduction in the flywheel weight reduces inertia, giving an enhancement in responsive feel to the powertrain. This reduced inertia also works to make the system more reactive to changes in rotational speed, resulting in a smoother, lighter feeling through the gear gate.
- Twin Plate Clutch – In addition to the lightweight flywheel, the AMR Performance Clutch is made up of a high-performance twin plate clutch with a significant increase in friction material surface area when compared to the standard clutch. This can help to enhance clutch life as well as torque capacity. The twin plate clutch mass is more focussed towards the centre of the flywheel, which is a contributing factor in delivering the significantly improved responsiveness. Finally, the reduction in clamping pressure decreases the clutch pedal weight, making it an easier and more enjoyable to drive even in heavy traffic.
