Jaguar D-Type Interior Refurbishment Client Case Study

Following a recent project, we are pleased to share with you the details of a recently completed interior refurbishment project on a client’s Jaguar D-Type.
About the Jaguar D-Type
The Jaguar D-Type, an iconic sports car, emerged as a symbol of British racing excellence in the 1950s. Introduced in 1954, this sleek and aerodynamic automobile was initially designed to dominate the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. With its innovative monocoque construction and cutting-edge disc brakes, the D-Type pushed the boundaries of automotive technology for its time. Its heart was a potent 3.4-liter inline-six engine, capable of delivering impressive speed and power. The D-Type achieved considerable success at Le Mans, winning the prestigious race three times in the mid-1950s, with its distinctive long nose and tail fin making it an instantly recognizable presence on the track. This legendary car’s remarkable blend of beauty and performance has ensured its enduring status as a true classic in the world of sports car racing.

The owners of this wonderful D-Type felt that the interior was just a little to patinated for their liking. So, using Connolly Vaumol ‘House of Commons Green’ (VM3253) the original panels were refoamed and re-trimmed.
Now re-fitted to the car, a more pleasant and comfortable place to enjoy this awesome car.
